Mental health is closely connected with the ability to cope with life’s normal stresses and difficulties. This paper discusses the importance of mental health in adulthood, as well as the differences between adolescents and adults who do not have sufficient mental health.
The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States. Psychology is science that deals with the mind, emotion and behavior (G. Engelhardt, 2003). Through research and studies psychologists make sense of human behavior and experience. The mental health field focuses on medical problems where people do not feel well or have difficulty in interacting with their environment (Engelhardt, 2003). There are many social, cultural and economic problems that contribute to the mental health of adults in their twenties (Jakle & Rosenbaum, 2018).
